Documenting History at the 2018 Women’s March

Journalism major Jordan Laird traveled to Manhattan with several other student WRHU staffers to the 2018 Women’s March on January 20.

Jordan spoke to numerous people on-site at the march and recorded several interviews. She returned to the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication and — using the facility’s cutting edge audio editing software — voiced, mixed and produced this news package about this once in a lifetime important historic event.

(This package aired on WRHU’s Associated Press Award-winning live local news show, Newsline.)

The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication is a center of creativity on Hofstra University’s campus. Our students are producing award-winning work, presenting research, and kickstarting their careers as future communications industry leaders. Prestigious faculty lead small, intimate classes and combine expert teaching, mentoring and hands-on experience to create a rich, collaborative learning environment.
